These variables include rentals, transportation, groceries, and recreational facilities. For the GIS final project, four key variables have been selected to determine the most suitable accommodation location for overseas students attending SAIT for academic purposes.
These variables include:
-
Rentals
-
Transportation
-
Groceries
-
Recreational facilities.
RENTALS
The first variable, rentals, will focus on identifying areas where rental housing is available and affordable for international students. This variable will take into account factors such as average rental prices, availability of rental units, and proximity to SAIT campus.
TRANSPORTATION
The second variable, transportation, will assess the accessibility and availability of transportation options for students. This will include identifying areas with good public transit links, proximity to major roads, and parking facilities.

GROCERIES
The third variable, groceries, will analyze the availability and accessibility of grocery stores and supermarkets in the surrounding areas. This variable will include identifying areas with a high concentration of grocery stores, as well as stores that offer a variety of international foods that cater to the needs of international students.
RECREATIONAL
FACILITIES
The fourth variable, recreational facilities, will focus on the availability of leisure facilities such as libraries, parks, and leisure centers. This variable will identify areas where students can access these facilities for recreation and relaxation.

FINAL OUTPUT
By analyzing these four variables and overlaying them on a map, the team was able to determine the most appropriate accommodation locations for overseas students attending SAIT for academic purposes. The results of the project will not only benefit international students but also provide insights for policymakers and the community to improve housing and living conditions for international students.
